Engagement Picture Day

This past Saturday, Chris & I thought we weren't going to be able to take our engagement pictures because of all the rain that had happened on Friday night.

We woke up & headed to Lineville Baptist for breakfast with the RA & GA groups and for a morning full of building and racing Lego cars.
We had a blast, but I couldn't help but be a little bit disappointed!

Our photographer, Mrs. Amy Sullins of Amy-Cole Photography, emailed me and asked if we wanted to do the pictures...even though it was pretty cold & still damp outside.
I was torn & Chris didn't think we could get ready & get the horses ready in time...but we decided to try!

After lots of running around & lots of horse grooming we hit the road to South Wind Plantation!

I had never met Amy before, so I was a little worried...would we click? Would the pictures turn out okay?

I had nothing, I repeat nothing, to worry about because as soon as she got out of her car I felt as if we had been best friends for years!

Chris is notorious for not wanting to have his picture made, but she was so great at making him feel comfortable and even making him laugh!
It was the perfect day :)

Even when we had a few mishaps with the horses tack, she was super patient with us & for that I am so thankful.

& how adorable is her selfie with Willow & Wrangler?
She posted it to Facebook with the caption "I had a fun engagement shoot today at South Wind Plantation with these two love birds!" which definitely made me laugh!

Then she posted the real picture with Chris & I :)

We are so blessed to have a photographer that is so patient and kind
& I know we look forward to building a relationship with her!

It's definitely a God thing that she was referred to us because connections like that don't just randomly happen-there was way too much laughter during that session for people that have just met!

Only 123 days until I marry my best friend in the entire world!

Wedding Update

It's been a short while since I last updated everyone on how the wedding plans are coming, but I'm happy to say that things are coming along quite well!

Since the last time, I've been back to South Wind with some more of my people to get ideas on decorating and how the actual day will work.

Julie/Trystan/Me/Mama/Mrs. Paula (Wedding Coordinator)/Mrs. Debbie/Mrs. Martha (Wedding Decorator)

I also got a picture with one of my most favorite people, Mrs. Ginger Watkins who is the owner of South Wind. Her husband Mr. Bobby & I will have to get a picture together at some point!

In November, I finally said, "Yes!" to the dress at the Quality Shoppe in Jacksonville, AL.
I was surprised because I absolutely fell in love with the first dress I tried on.
I tried on a few more after that, but none of the rest did it for me!
The Quality Shoppe ladies were so helpful & sweet, they really made me feel like I was part of their family!
I'm so thankful to say that I'm a Quality Shoppe bride!
A few weeks later, I brought almost all of my bridesmaids to the Quality Shoppe to pick out their bridesmaids dresses.
I've seen Say Yes To The Dress: Bridesmaids so I wasn't too sure what to expect.
I love all of my friends, but y'all know how girls are!
Luckily, I have been blessed with the most amazing group of girls, we all agreed on one dress that everyone loved & I'm pretty sure we decided in a record time.

After getting our dresses all picked out, we headed to Effina's in Jacksonville for the most delicious lunch ever. I'm serious, it was SO good.

((Disclaimer on these pictures...I'm wearing a Piko tunic that makes me appear to have gained about 4,000 pounds, but I swear I haven't!))

Paige is my Matron of Honor & I'm so thankful to have her standing by my side and helping me with all of the wedding details. I couldn't ask for a better friend to vent to and to just hang out with on Friday nights while our boys talk chickens!

Katie is one of my bridesmaids & she is one of my friends that I've gone through so much with!
We became friends during the short time that she was at Lineville & maintained our friendship through handwritten letters, phone calls, texts, etc. I'm so thankful to be a part of her wedding just two weeks before mine & I'm so grateful that she's going to be in mine!

Hannah is another bridesmaid & absolutely the best roommate. Jasie introduced us when they were roommates in Jacksonville and we've been good friends ever since. She's so sweet & always willing to listen. Plus, she's one of the most fun people to be around!

Courtney is so precious to me, when no one else understands what I'm trying to say-she speaks my language. Although we may not get to spend as much time together as we would like, our friendship always picks up right where we left off.

Casey is one of my oldest friends & I'm so glad that she is going to be one of my bridesmaids!
We've been with each other for so many adventures & I can't wait to see where these wedding adventures will take us. She's already been so helpful & I know I can count on her to help me with anything & everything!

Sweet Jasie is my bridal party's personal nurse.
Just kidding ;)
She's one of my best friends & always keeps me laughing.
It's rare to find a friend like her that is so driven, but also loves to have fun.
She keeps me light & happy, I know that will come in handy on the Big Day!

Gloria is missing from this group of pictures because she had to work on the day we went shopping, but I haven't forgotten about her!
She is almost like the "Mom" of me, always making sure that I'm okay & making sure I don't get lost at places like Alpha Psi ;)
I can't wait to see you so we can take a picture together & make it blog official!

It's so rare to find a group of girls that care about each other & me as much as these girls do.
Plus, Christopher loves each of them as much as I do which is also rare.

I can't believe that I have dates for my bridal showers which are all coming up in the next few months.
Chris and I are registered now at Dillard's & at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (& this week we'll be registered at Target as well!) and I think this week we're going to taste cake & book a florist.

I just have a few more things to check off the list before I'm fully prepared for the Big Day!

Also, our engagement pictures are this Saturday at South Wind with Mrs. Amy Sullins of Amy Cole Photography & I am SO excited to be able to trailer our horses up and include them in the session.

It's exciting & I cannot wait to see where the rest of this journey takes me!
Be on the lookout this week for a Christmas post!

xoxo, Jordyn
